• 24308 - Demo existing house and replace it with a two family residential structure and a detached garage with ADU above.

Construction projects around MSU

Construction of MSUs new $57.8 million Combined State Laboratories building West of campus.

Construction of MSU’s new 3 story Gianforte Hall incorporating multiple sustainability features designed to target a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, silver certification. The building will be part of MSU’s South Campus Energy District, a system that helps reduce energy use by allowing buildings to help heat and cool each other.

Many round abouts popped up within the last couple of years part of the City of Bozeman’s SAFE plan. “Starting immediately, every new City transportation project will prioritize roundabouts as the preferred intersection type. The safety statistics for roundabouts are proven and undeniable - they can reduce fatal crashes by 90% and have a 76% reduction in injury crashes.” - City of Bozeman Transportation and Engineering

Winco Water Melons

I was talking to a produce employee at Winco last week. He mentioned that in the summer time, they go through 3 pallets aka bins of water melons each day. Each bin weighs appx 700 lbs selling nearly one ton every day.

First Security Bank of Missoula is being constructed with Cross-Laminated Timber (#CLT) and #Glue Laminated Timber (#Glulam). They put together an awesome video below showcasing the beautiful structure.

City of Helena has new permit, planning, and license website

Jul 2, 2024 - HELENA, Mont. - The City of Helena has unveiled their new permitting, planning and licensing website. This new website features a new system called Civic Access, and it's a public facing online portal. - Montana Right Now

Graymont Limestone Quarry

Ran into Graymont's Indian Creek plant West of Townsend, MT on the way to some rock climbing spots. Lime is produced in two coal/coke-fired preheater kilns. The plant is also equipped with lime-sizing and storage facilities as well as a hydrator, enabling it to produce and store a full range of bulk lime products.

Last load of logs being processed at Pyramid Mountain Lumber in Seeley Lake

Large Swings

US natural gas futures were down -10.42% last week falling to $2.35/MMBtu, the lowest in seven weeks, due to increased production and oversupply. A heat wave is expected to persist through mid-July.

Silver was up +7.14% last week extended its upswing toward $31.5 per ounce in July, the highest since the 11-year highs of $32 in late May amid mounting bets that the Fed is due to start its cutting cycle in September.

We had a beautiful wet and cold Spring, time for mother nature to crank up the summer heat. Looking hot and dry the first half of July fingers crossed we get a reversal later this month.
