May 06, 2025 A fishing access site along the Yellowstone River near Columbus and Reed Point has been closed by BNSF Railway. BNSF cited trespassing as the reason for closing access to the Twin Bridges site. (KBZK)

May 08, 2025 A few weeks ago, a massive “garbage truck sized” boulder toppled off the side of Homestake Pass and landed just a few feet from the roadway. “We’ve attempted to break it using mechanical methods, using a hammer on an excavator, and we’re not successful. So, right now, we’re looking into some contractors who can do some drilling and crack it,” (KXLF)
May 09, 2025 26 wild horses placed at Hamilton adoption event. The Bureau of Land Management reports 19 adults and seven yearlings - out of the 36 animals offered - found new homes. The next adoption event will be held from June 6 until June 8 in Livingston, where 41 untrained horses and burros will be looking to be adopted. This is part of the BLM Wild Horse and Burro Program. May 09 2025 The DNRC is seeking Notifications of Interest (NOI) from qualified entities interested in leasing and operating the hydroelectric power production facilities at the Broadwater Dam Project. The DNRC will retain ownership of the dam structure and associated assets, while the selected lessee will operate, maintain, and potentially upgrade the power generation facilities. (DNRC)

While the names were being read off, I was curious to see where students are from finding that 1,341 (7.82%) of enrollment originates from CA, 1,586 (9.25%) from WA, and 1,610 (9.40%) from CO, and 7,023 (40.96%) from Montana. May 07, 2025 The Wandering Buffalo Hotel is set to open at 1200 East Main Street, just east of Lindley Park. You might remember this location as the Western Heritage Inn, a longtime Bozeman staple that closed back in 2021. The property hit the market for $3.9 million in August of that year and was sold shortly after. (Bozeman Real Estate Group)

Journey Church Expansion has filed a Conditional Use Permit to expand their building by 29,800 sq ft for their education wing.
Resurrection University Parish is breaking ground on a new rectory and student center in the upcoming weeks.

New Paint
I-90 got some new stripes last week between Bozeman and Belgrade pushing traffic to one lane at times, HighMark Traffic Services was the paint contractor and they did well!
