Pray, MT for Sale

Founded in 1907 by Valentine Eggar and named after U.S. Congressman Charles Nelson Pray, the town has long been a fixture of the Paradise Valley community—long before the area became a destination for travelers and adventurers from around the world.

For over 20 years, Pray was lovingly cared for by Barbara Walker, who inherited the town from her husband’s family. Acting as landlord, caretaker, and even its unofficial mayor, Barbara’s stewardship helped preserve its charm and historical character. She sold the property in 2018, and now, the opportunity has come again for someone to carry on the legacy of this Montana town.

The town of Pray Montana is/was for sale. The roughly 5-acre property includes a post office (leased by the U.S. Postal Service), the historic Pray General Store, multiple short-term rental units, and space for future development—all for $2.6 million. (Bozeman Real Estate Group)

April 22, 2025 Clean Energy Company Says Its Tech Could Eliminate Smokestacks On Coal Plants. A group of engineering and technology experts are meeting there this week with the goal of making them obsolete. This CO2 is then recirculated through a new type of turbine that will not need smokestacks to release emissions. (Cowboy State Daily)

History

"Deep in the remote mountainous wilderness of Montana, we find this remarkable structure known as the Sage Wall. This imposing megalithic wonder is composed of massive polygonal granite stone blocks intricately stacked and aligned in a perfectly straight line. The Sage Wall's unique features, such as its straight lines and angular formations, set it apart from the natural geological formations commonly found in the region, connecting it with other sites commonly known as the Montana Megaliths."
